Excitement Builds for the 2008 Racing Season at Winchester Speedway
Winchester Speedway will have it's Open Practice/Play Day to let drivers prepare for the new 2008 season.
The Season Opener Double Points race is just over one week away as the excitement grows over the new racing surface,
new drivers, and new rides at Winchester Speedway.
The 2008 Season will see the birth of a newly formed series called the Six Pack Shootout. The Six Pack Shootout was solely designed to bring excitement back to Winchester Speedway for both the fans and the drivers. The Six Pack Shootout will be a six race series at Winchester Speedway in which Super Late Model drivers will compete for over $33,000 in purse money and over $12,500 in cash and awards points fund. We are very excited about this series and the amount of enthusiasm we see from both drivers and sponsors in just the short amount of time we've had to promote it is unbelievable. We look for this series to grow in the coming years to be something great!
Winchester Speedway will also be a part of the Contingency Connection this year. This year, there will only be 40 oval tracks nationwide selected to participate in the Contingency Connection. The Contingency Connection guarantees each participating track a $50,000 contingency posting but has delivered $100,000 in contingency postings to each track for the last SEVEN
YEARS! The $50,000+ Contingency posting will offer our racers increased incentives and monetary awards. Some of the sponsors participating in the Contingency Connection include ACCEL, COMP CAMS, CRANE CAMS,HEDMAN HEDDERS, HOLLEY CARBS, and many more. Each week, our drivers will compete for product certificates provided by the many sponsors who make up the Contingency Connection.
So drivers, get your cars ready and head on out to the speedway this Saturday, March 1st and get a leg up on finding the right setup on the new clay surface. Gates will open at 12 noon. Practice will get underway at 1pm and run until 7pm. Pit admission is $15 per adult; children age 6 to 11 are $7; children age 5 and under are free. Concessions will be available in the pit area.
Then it's the Season Opener Double Points race March 8th with all classes in action. Let's get revved up for a roaring 2008 season at Winchester Speedway!
