Winchester Speedway announces R & R Speed and Machine as
Six Pack Shootout Series title sponsor

By:Todd Cumming

Winchester Speedway proudly announces Huntsville's R & R Speed and Machine as the title sponsor of the inaugural Super Late Model Six Pack Shootout series. R & R Speed and Machine is a popular long standing hi-performance engine machine shop creating power for southeastern circle track and drag racers since 1970.  The family owned business started in 1971 by Ron and Harold Reed is especially proud of servicing their customers with complete in-house engine machining done by Ron's son Kevin and complete engine assembly for over 25 years by David Ross. The 12,000 square foot
facility completes every aspect of engine development all at one facility, thus keeping the engine components in the same environment and protecting the components from possible damage caused by shipping and or poor quality control due to outside services.

The importance of handling every aspect of engine machining and building is what Kevin Reed prides himself on, with
Kevin handling many of the machining duties personally. R & R also has a full service engine dyno for all research and development work as well as fine tuning all R & R built engines. The in-house engine dyno is also available for personal engine builders to use for $350 for set-up and three power pulls. Additional tuning is done for a fee of $50 per hour.

R & R Speed and Machine also carries a complete line of racing parts, VP and Sunoco racing fuels, Renegade Methanol and all performance additives. You can contact R & R Speed and Machine at 256-539-0824 or 256-539-0890.

Winchester Speedway would like to thank R & R Speed and Machine for all their support of the R & R Speed and Machine Six Pack Shootout Series.

Winchester Speedway owner, Darrell Day is excited to bring this first year series to the area drivers. It's exciting with putting down new clay in the off season and having a goal of creating a better racing facility with series like this. The creation of the R & R Speed and Machine.

Double H Race Fabrication Six Pack Shootout allows local drivers and area travelers the chance to run a special six race series with its own six race point fund.

The goal of Winchester Speedway was to create a series that allows area drivers a chance to race for an increased purse and points fund for six races only.

Many sponsors are coming on board supporting the series with cash and products, creating a point fund of $10,000 in cash and awards.

Winchester Speedway looked at the 2008 schedules of traveling series and late model specials at surrounding tracks and placed the Six Pack Shootout Series on those off nights. Running the series on these off nights and taking the Late Models off the schedule for the nights of other area special races allows our drivers the chance to go race the other tracks for larger purses and then for traveling drivers to come run Winchester on their off nights. It's a win-win situation for all stated Darrell.

Also with the cost of racing escalating, the series allows for drivers that choose to not run a complete schedule at their tracks to come over and run the Six Pack Shootout and still have a chance at a very nice purse and point's awards and prizes for just running the six races. The goal of the series is to bring the fun back into racing as special awards for the drivers and prizes for
the fans will be awarded at each event.

Please come out to Winchester Speedway on Saturday March 22nd for Round I of the R & R Speed and Machine
Double H Race Fabrication Six Pack Shootout as drivers compete for a purse over $33,000 and a $10,000 point fund (cash and awards).

Additional sponsors interested in supporting the series, please contact Winchester Speedway at 931-434-0691.
