WARTBURG, TN (April 28, 2008)—The Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, TN will return back to it’s Weekly Racing Program this Friday night May 2, 2008.

On the racing docket for this Friday’s events will be a complete show of Super Late Models, Sportsman, Pure Mini, Front Wheel Drive and Street Stocks.

The PPM Racing Products Southern Regional Racing Series will make their first-ever visit to Wartburg Speedway on Friday night May 9th for a one-night $3,000 to win event. The Series was scheduled to compete at Wartburg Speedway on April 11th but Mother Nature did not cooperate with the event and it was pushed up until May 9th. Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC won the Series’ most recent event at the Clinton County Speedway in Alpha, KY on April 26th. The Murfreesboro, TN based dirt late model series is making only their second East-Tennessee visit ever, the first one coming a couple of weeks back at the Mountain Raceway in Maryville, TN when Ray Cook dominated a field of 51 entries for the $3,000 win.
