Rain cancels Friday April 4th event at Wartburg Speedway

($1,200 Sportsman Race will be ran Friday April 18th)

(Wartburg/Mountain Ready for Southern Regional Racing Series)

WARTBURG, TN (April 4, 2008)—Due to flooding rains the past few days and forecasted rain for the next day or so, Officials with the Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, TN have cancelled racing for Friday April 4th.

The Sportsman Special sponsored by Morgan County Pro-Hardware will be ran on Friday April 18th as part of a weekly racing program for all other divisions.

Wartburg Speedway is now looking forward to the first-ever trip by the Southern Regional Racing Series on Friday Night April 11th as part of the 2008 Season Opener. The event will pay $3,000 to win / $300 to start for the Murfreesboro, TN based Southern Regional Racing Series.

Last year’s Southern Regional Racing Series Champion Byron Michael of Florence, AL along with the rest of the SRRS gang and East-TN regulars are expected to be in attendance as well as the 2007 Wartburg Speedway and Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series Champion Anthony White of Clinton, TN.
