TAZEWELL THUNDER EVENT IS ON FOR SATURDAY APRIL 19TH
Tazewell, TN (April 13th, 2008) – With one event finally in the books at Tazewell Speedway, the track and The Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series are looking forward to this Saturday April 19th for what will be the second event of 2008 for both the track and the series. With the month of March pretty much a wash-out for racing in the entire region, drivers and fans will no doubt be looking forward to the $3,000 to win 3rd Annual Thunder Thaw 50 this weekend. Pit gates will open at 3pm; grandstands at 4pm and qualifying is slated for 7pm.
Drivers expected include 2008 Series Contenders Anthony White of Clinton, Rick Rogers of Knoxville, Tommy Kerr of Maryville, Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, David Payne of Murphy, NC, Dan Tipton of Kingston, Richard Smith of Science Hill, KY, Mike Weeks of Friendsville, Stacy Boles of Claxton, Jeff Wolfenbarger of Clinton, Jeff Maupin of Greenville, Mark Douglas of Knoxville, April Farmer of Livingston, and Jeff Neubert of Knoxville. Other regional drivers expected include Vic Hill of Morristown, Brian Smith of Barbourville, KY, Steve Smith of Powell, Marty Calloway of Maynardville, Troy Eads of Tazewell, Jack Trammel of Knoxville and many more.
In addition to the $3,000 to win A-Main for The Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series Late Models, the Steel Head Late Models will run for $1,000 to win. Other classes in action will include FasTrak Crates, Street and Modified Street. The Four-Cylinder Division will be off.
General admission for the "Thunder Thaw 50" is set at $16, with children 10-years-old and younger admitted into the grandstands FREE of charge. Pit admission is set at $30.
