East-Tennessee ready for Southern Regional Racing Series on April 11-12

WARTBURG, TN (April 1, 2008)—On Friday April 11 and Saturday April 12 the Southern Regional Racing Series Presented by PPM Racing Products will make it’s first-ever visit to East Tennessee with a pair of $3,000 to win shows.
The first stop of the weekend will commence at the Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, TN for a $3,000 to win / $300 to start event on Friday April 11, 2008. This will mark the first-ever appearance by the Tennessee-based Southern Regional Racing Series Presented by PPM Racing Products to the 1/3 mile high-banked clay oval located on Heidel Road in Wartburg, Tennessee.
The Southern Regional Racing Series drivers will then move to the Kevin Coffey owned Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN on Saturday Night April 12, 2008 for another $3,000 to win / $300 to start event. This will also mark another first-time appearance of the Southern Regional Racing Series Presented by PPM Racing Products tour to the recently revamped 4/10 mile semi-banked oval located 20 minutes southwest of Knoxville, TN.
Drivers from the series expected to be in attendance include the reining Southern Regional Racing Series champion Byron Michael of Florence, AL as well as Mike Luna of Sparta, TN; Tony Morris of Murfreesboro, TN; Jay Brinkley of Shelbyville, TN; Steve Ross of Lexington, TN; Michael Luna of Sparta, TN; Joe Denby of Tullahoma, TN; Erick Hickerson of Linden, TN; Ben Kittrell of Mt. Pleasant, TN; and Billy Mayo of Cleveland, TN.
The 2007 Wartburg Speedway and Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series Champion Anthony White is expected to be in attendance for the weekend’s events. White knows his way around Wartburg Speedway. In 2007 White claimed not only the stand-alone Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series sanctioned event in September but the track-sanctioned Independence Day Blowout event in July which paid the Clinton, TN driver $10,000 for his efforts.
