Rain Wins Again, SAS Races Cancelled
CHATSWORTH, Ga. (Apr. 2) For the third time nasty weather has forced North Georgia and Cleveland Speedway officials to call the Ernest Young Memorial and the Shamrock 60. The two Southern All Star events have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
"This has been a month long battle and we have finally surrendered to the weather," said promoter Monty Morrow in disgust. "We will continue with our regular schedule for North Georgia on Friday and Cleveland on Saturday. It will be the first point race of the season at each track."
The armbands and or tickets from the Friday night rain out will be honored at any race at North Georgia Speedway this season. If there is a price difference it will be addressed. Late Model competitors who paid entry fees to the Southern All Star Series will have to make arrangements with the series.
This Friday at North Georgia and Saturday night at Cleveland Speedway there will be a regular racing program featuring all local divisions. This weekend's racing signals the start of the season point battles for both speedways.
