Overcast skies and cool temperatures greeted fans as they filled up for a great night of racing at the Clarksville StormPay.Com Speedway

Track conditions were in good shape for a fun night of racing for the second point’s race of this season.

The rain showers stayed away long enough to get racing going with the Street class being the first feature race for the night.  In 12 laps of  white knuckle racing, it was  Phillip Byard in the #01 taking the checker flag with Jonathon “Jon Jon” Wix in the #78 taking  2nd place, Josh Taylor driving the #6 finishing 3rd, David Cline in the #4 taking 4th and  Pete Travis in his #28 taking 5th place.

Pro Street class was the next featured with the best qualifying time coming from Troy Clark with a 14.568; however, Troy and his #13C car could not take the race from Mike Hodges in the #99 who pulled away with the victory with Clark taking 2nd.  Anthony Jackson in the #36 was your 3rd place winner with Jimmie Davenport in his #81 coming in 4th and Joeseph Lingauer in the #22 coming in 5th.

Qualifying for the Crate Late Model’s was taken by Carnell Parker III with a time of 13.841 and he was able to the take the checker flag in the feature with Caleb Ashby in the #61 taking 2nd.  The rest of the field went to Duane Hodges in the #117 in 3rd place, Jason Jones in the #15 was 4th and Brent Lewis finished in 5th.

For the second week in a row, Clayton Miller in the Lexington Landscape #15 was your fastest qualifier with a time of 13.828 and Clayton took his second victory in a row in the UMP Open Wheel with David Flowers in the #99 coming in 2nd.  The rest of the field was #95 Zach Fair in 3rd, #117 Dustin Isom in 4th and #16 Kyle Gibbs was in 5th.


UMP Late Model was on board next with the fastest qualifying time going to #27 Chuck Proctor with a time of 13.029; however, Chuck could not hold off the veteran Tony Parker in the #1 during the feature as Tony took the checker flag with Rusty Griffaw in 2nd, and Chuck Proctor finishing 3rd.  #16S Chris Shelton took 4th place with #7X Gil Smith in 5th.

The last 3 features of the night went to the Minis with the Outlaw Mini Sprints checker flag going to Eric Wright with Scott McDaniel taking 2nd and Jeremy Anderson in 3rd.  The Pure Mini Stock winner was Jeffery Ritenberry in the #T3 car with Daniel Stephens taking 2nd and Brandon Kuck in 3rd.  The final feature of the night was the Mini Mods with Kyle Fleming taking the checker flag with Michael Perrigo in 2nd and Danny Taylor finishing 3rd. 

Dirt oval racing will continue next Saturday, April 19th with gates opening at 4 o’clock with racing action getting started around 6 P.M.  Next Saturday will be the $2000 to Win for the Mini Sprints with qualifying, hot laps and feature races occurring in all classes.  Points will once again be on the line as the season is heating on the dirt oval at the Clarksville StormPay.Com Speedway.  Additional information can be obtained by calling 931-645-2523.
