Action Heating Up at the Clarksville Speedway

The weather may have turned cold over the weekend but that didn’t stop several fans from turning out as the action began heating up at the Clarksville Speedway. This was a tune-up for drivers who are getting ready for the “Tuckasee Toilet Bowl” that is taking place next weekend. It is usually the start the racing season but was postponed due to “Old Man Winter.” 

Action began with the 15 lap “Pro Street” class where the #13C car driven by Troy Clark took a commanding lead in the Pro
Street class and won the race with #81 Jimmie Davenport finishing 2nd and #36 Anthony Jackson finishing 3rd.

Second feature race of the night was the “Crate Late Model” where the #1A car driven by Levi Ashby took a huge lead at the beginning and even lapped a few cars before taking the checker flag with #29 Donald Suiters coming in 2nd and #35 Darrell Hartman finished out in 3rd.

“Street” model took the track in the third race with the #78 car driven by Jonathon “Jon Jon” Wix kept the lead throughout the race and won with #6 Josh Taylor taking 2nd and #01 Phillip Byard finishing 3rd.

“Open Wheel” model with the #0 car driven by Tim Hancock taking the checker flag with Richard Michael in the #17X finishing 2nd with Joseph Hamm in the #J3 taking home 3rd.

“Late Model”  took the stage for the next race with the first real battle of the season taking place during this race with #92 B.J. McCammon battling with #1 Tony Albright and #24 Ryan Unzicker with McCammon taking the checker flag in this heated race with Unzicker finishing 2nd and crowd favorite Tony Albright taking 3rd.

The final two races of the night featured the mini’s with the “Pure Mini Stock” race saw one of the biggest wrecks of the night with the Rittenberry family battling it out for the checker flag with #T3 Jeff Rittenberry taking 1st place with Michael Rittenberry in the #10 holding on to 2nd and #84X Brandon Kuck finish out in 3rd.

The final race of the night featured the “Mini Mod” with #89 Micah Smith taking home the checker flag with #91G Christopher Perrigo finishing 2nd with #8 Jmes Lovelady rounding out the top 3.
